The new Toyota Auris SR grade
Toyota have announced two new grades will join the existing Auris line-up this spring.
The new Auris SR models will be powered by 1.6 Dual VVT-i petrol and 2.0 D-4D 130 diesel engines. Toyotoa is hoping the new grade will put the range right in the heart of the mild sports market, a fast-growing niche that already accounts for more than one third of new UK car sales in the C-segment.
Toyota Motorsport has provided 17-inch alloy wheels and lower sports suspension, with a rear spoiler and dark-tinted privacy glass features shared with the current SR180.
Nine airbags, climate control air conditioning, leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls, front fog lamps, six-speaker sound system and body colour-matched door handles and mirrors will all be included.
The revised Auris TR will prominently feature the introduction of automatic dual zone air conditioning on the Auris TR. Control of left and right-side cabin temperatures is a major selling point.
A new look involving lean five-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels, distinctive blue interior seat trim and chrome rear trim detailing makes the car more of a standout model than previous efforts.
In line with the SR grade, nine airbags, climate control air conditioning, leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls, front fog lamps, six-speaker sound system and body colour-matched door handles and mirrors will all also be included.
The SR is on sale now in three and five-door body styles, priced from £14,495.
The TR is available with 1.4 and 1.6 VVT-i petrol and 2.0 D-4D 130 diesel engines. Optional MultiMode transmission is available with the 1.6 unit.
