Mazda5 given 2008 revamp
Mazda has unveiled an upgrade to its Mazda5 range fresh for 2008.

The Japanese manufacturer now offers customers in the UK market a nine-strong model line-up with a choice of four powertrains and four equipment levels.

Petrol and diesel engined models are already on sale, priced from £14,760 on-the-road, with a new automatic transmission variant available from March 2008 to complete the range.

The company hopes to repeat the success of the original model, released in 2007, with a refreshed design, new power sliding doors, a more luxurious interior finish, improved suspension settings, improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.

"The upgraded Mazda5 for 2008 is the ideal vehicle for Mazda to consolidate its strong appeal in this segment," explains Mark Cameron, Mazda UK marketing director.

Company research shows the majority of Mazda5 owners are 35 to 45-year-old professionals, with young families.

Furthermore, 50 per cent chose the top of the range Sport and Sport Nave versions of the car.

"The upgraded model’s optional luxury pack has been developed as a result of this research and I’m sure it will achieve high take-up.

"We will continue to market Mazda5 as a fine handling car that has our brand’s typically high driver appeal, plus the practical abilities to carry families in considerable comfort and safety," concluded Mr Cameron.
