Another conceptual first for LA Motor Show
South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has launched its Concept Genesis Coupe at the Los Angeles International Auto Show.
Taking place on the west coast of the United States this week, the Los Angeles show is among the biggest in the world, taking place each year since 1907.
The show has already seen the launch of a concept car from Audi, and the new vehicle from Hyundai is the second unique car to be unveiled.
A rear-wheel drive 2+2 sports coupe, the Genesis couple is a change of direction for Hyundai, with the intention of broadening the company's appear to hardcore driving enthusiasts.
A mixture of rear-wheel drive handling and stunning styling, it is hoped the car will go on sale in the United States in 2009 and is presently being considered for the European market.
"The mission for Concept Genesis Coupe was to create a pure performance car with a design that would capture the imagination of hardcore automotive enthusiasts,” said Joel Piaskowski, chief designer at the Hyundai Design Centre.
"With its aggressive look from just about any angle, I think we have been able to do that."
When it goes on sale the car is set to be the most affordable 300+ horsepower car on the market, and offer the most dynamic performance yet from Hyundai.
