The new Zetec S offers the feel of a sports car with the efficiency of a small vehicle
Ford fans will be able to celebrate the return of the sporty new Fiesta Zetec S at the London International Motor Show this month.

Ford's new small car will be offering a sports model for launch this autumn, continuing to use the Zetec S name, first introduced to the Fiesta range in 1999.

It will be making its debut at the International Motor Show later this month, before going on sale in October.

"Fiesta has always stood for fun and Zetec S delivers this with a capital ‘F’," enthused Mark Ovenden, Ford of Britain's marketing director. "Lively performance and sporty styling mean it looks great and goes as well as it looks."
The Fiesta Zetec S has five-spoke, 16-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps, front fog lamps, a deeper front bumper, side mouldings and a rear spoiler.

Inside, a leather steering wheel and bolstered sports seats boosts the sporty feel, while the standard equipment list addresses both comfort and safety, with side airbags and air conditioning.

An all-new, 120PS Duratec Ti-VCT engine will be powerful enough to reach 62 mph in 9.9 seconds and a top speed of 120 mph. Lowered, tuned sports suspension helps maintain excellent dynamic response.

The new engine uses less fuel and generates less CO2 than the 100PS, 1.6-litre engine from the previous Fiesta. It returns a combined fuel economy of 47.9 mpg and CO2 emissions of 139 g/km.

Fiesta Zetec S will also be available with a 1.6-litre, 90PS Duratorq TDCi, providing even greater efficiency. This engine sips fuel at 67.3 mpg, generating just 110g/km CO2. Even so, it develops 204 Nm torque from only 1,750 rpm and its mid-range performance is underlined by a 31-62 mph time of just 9.9 seconds.
