Fiat 500 flies into London

Fiat last night launched its exciting new Fiat 500 model with a special flight on the London Eye.

Taking to the air exactly 500 hours into the new year, the new car's launch was attended by a host of celebrities, including Kelly Osbourne, Jade Jagger, Eva Herzigova, Eddie Jordan, Leah Wood and Lawrence Dallaglio, as well as over 1,500 other guests.

A light show also entertained the crowds, along with performances from Mika, the Feeling and the Vibrants.

"We are absolutely delighted to have given thousands of people a party to remember, and the chance to watch the launch of our new Fiat 500," said Fiat managing director, Andrew Humberstone.

"We are confident this car, with it stylish looks, economical consumption figures, outstanding safety features and ‘green’ credentials, will win a place in everyone’s hearts."

The celebrations marked the beginning of a two-week flight for the vehicle.

While the new Fiat 500 is airborne, members of the public will have the chance to win one in an interactive design competition being staged at the London Eye until February 3rd.
