Citroen reveals new 'green' concept project

The C-Cactus has one of the most bizarre names for a car we've ever come across

In one of the more bizarrely named vehicles we have come across, the new C-Cactus concept car represents Citroen's big hope for a 'green' future.

Citroen is hoping the C-Cactus will be the basis for an "ultra-environmentally friendly vehicle".

Designers at the company have been focusing on producing a 'radically' simplistic product, created to reduce the number of components and the overall weight of the vehicle.

This has resulted in a car with around half the parts of a regular vehicle removed, including even the dashbord.

The door panels are made of just two parts, compared to twelve in a conventional car and many components are made from recycled materials.

The project will consider a range of powerplants including a HYmotion2 diesel–electric hybrid returning near 100 mpg fuel economy, with CO2 emissions of just 78 g/km, plus a 100 per cent electric model, similar to the version which is on display at the Paris Motor Show.
