New Audi A3 Cabriolet makes world debut
The new Audi A3 Cabriolet has been unveiled for the first time today.
The vehicle is the first ever premium compact class open top from the German manufacturer and will arrive on British roads next spring.
Lining up alongside the established TT and A4 ranges, the new car will be available with either a semi or fully hood specification, while – crucially for a convertible - its body structure features a high proportion of high-strength steel reinforcing which provide maximum rigidity and optimum safety.
Seating four, the A3 comes with four engine versions –with two petrol and two turbocharged direct injection diesel specifications available, all of which offer ample power with impressive efficiency.
Transmission is limited to front wheel driver, while there is an option of an S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox.
The A3 Cabriolet maintains the electromechanical power steering which characterises the A3 range as a whole, with strong steering response and a compliant ride are achieved with the advanced four-link rear suspension.
Two trim levels will be available at launch, standard and sport, with prices and dates to be confirmed later.
