The Sports Tourer will be available in the UK around the second quarter of 2009
Vauxhall is gearing up to debut its third Insignia variant at the Paris Motor Show on October 2nd.
The new car will be known as the Sports Tourer, available to UK buyers in the second quarter of 2009.
The range will feature two new engine types - a powerful turbodiesel and a smaller turbocharged petrol unit.
Five powerplants will also be included in the saloon and hatchback models.
Vauxhall are also planning an ecoFLEX Sports Tourer in the near future, which promises lower emissions and fuel consumption.
"This is a stand-alone model and not simply an estate version of the saloon," said Mark Adams, vice president of GM Europe Design.
"In fact, all the bodywork aft of the B-pillars is unique to the Sports Tourer. We've also ensured that its design combines the sculptural artistry and technical precision found in the saloon and hatch models."
The Sports Tourer will be available with front and all-wheel drive, plus Vauxhall's FlexRide system with Adaptive Stability Technology.
