Caravan lovers are advised to go with the Multispace

Citroen's executives will be toasting the success of the Berlingo Multispace tonight as it picked up the best Towcar award from the Caravan Club.

The MPV came out on top in a field of more than 38 cars to win the Towcar accolade, defeating models from Hyundai, Kia, Peugeot and Skoda.

The Berlingo Multispace 1.6HDi XTR model saw off the challenge of vehicles from Hyundai, Kia, Peugeot and Skoda to win in the sub-£16,000 category at the Caravan Club Towcar of the Year awards.

Six experts assessed each vehicle's towing performance, acceleration, braking and the ability to cope with demanding hill starts.

Four 'caravanability' judges carefully assessed each model's 'usability' in terms of everyday caravanning.
