The Mazda3 gets some special edition extras to tempt you into the showroom


Four new Mazda3 and Mazda5 "Venture Edition" models are now on sale in the UK, priced from £17,495 OTR. The Venture trim adds some nice cosmetic touches as well as some extra technology to the base models, the Mazda3 T2 and Mazda5 TS2.

You get a sports styling kit with gunmetal finish alloy wheels sports front grille, side skirts, rear spoiler, leather steering wheel with audio controls, and privacy glass. One of the colours on offer is Mazda's lovely new Dolphin Grey Mica. Rear seats are split-fold 50/50 and in the Mazda5, cargo space is up to 1,485 litres with the seats down.

Standard tech on the Venture editions includes Sanyo TomTom sat-nav with 5.8-inch touchscreen, air-conditioning, remote central locking, deadlocks, CD/radio with iPod connectivity and six speakers, Thatcham Category 1 car alarm, heated front seats, integrated Bluetooth, front fog lights, airbags all round and cruise control.

There's a choice of engines on offer with the Venture editions too. The Mazda3 is available with a 1.6-litre, 104bhp petrol engine at £17,495 or a 1.6-litre, 113bhp diesel priced at £18,995. 

The Mazda5 comes with a 2.0-litre, 148bhp petrol engine for £19,995 or a 1.6-litre, 113bhp diesel costing £21,290. The best for fuel economy and CO2 emissions is the diesel Mazda3 Venture with combined mileage at 65.7mpg and emissions at 115g/km.
