The new Citroen C1 Connexion special edition was designed by Facebook fans
The first production car for the UK market sourced by Facebook fans was revealed by Citroen to be the Citroen C1 Connexion special edition.
A festival of sexy black with hints of red inside and out, based on the VTR level of trim, it was chosen from more than 24,000 configurations with fans using a Facebook app to visit a virtual factory floor and create their ideal city car. It even has a new badge designed by a Facebook fan.
Now it's on sale in either the three- or five-door body type with prices from £9,495 for the three-door and £9,845 for the five-door - just £500 more than the VTR version on which it is based.
It's got a 1.0-litre engine, manual gearbox, metallic paint, 14-inch alloy wheels, tinted rear window and plenty of excellent specs. There's ABS and EBD, variable power steering, front and front lateral airbags, air conditioning, LED daytime running lights and front electric windows.
Emissions are just 99g/km and combined fuel economy is 65.7mpg making it congestion charge-exempt in London.
The question remains: will this C1 go social media mad and be the first Facebook-sourced car to open a Twitter account?
