The new Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid brings eco-performance and motorway prowess

Mercedes-Benz has announced UK prices and specs for their latest assault on the luxury hybrid market. The new E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid will go on sale from November and OTR prices are set at £39,645 for the Saloon and £41,435 for the Estate.

It looks like this one isn't just a hybrid that's all about making a statement, celebrity-style. It's a decent-sized luxury car and it is offering some pretty impressive eco-friendly stats. Fuel economy on the combined cycle is 65.7mpg and CO2 emissions are just 109g/km.

Add to this a 0-62mph sprint of 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 150mph and it looks like Merc is well on the way to cracking it when it comes to making a premium car that's clean and green but still offers some decent poke on the highway. There's an advanced diesel-electric hybrid system which allows for electric-only drive and thus zero emissions.

Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels – 16-inch wheels can be fitted as a no-cost option to achieve the lowest possible CO2 and economy figures. Also included is leather upholstery, Becker Map Pilot Navigation and LED daytime running lights.

UK deliveries of the new E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid are set to start in November.
