Get in quick for limited run on Audi RS3 Sportback

A second run of the UK-spec Audi RS 3 Sportback compact hatch is now on. There are just 250 slots remaining for UK customers so if you want one of these hyperactive hot hatches, you'd better hurry up.

For £39,930 OTR, you'll get a turbocharged five-cylinder petrol engine mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission, 335bhp, 332lb-ft of torque, a 0-62mph sprint of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 155mph. There's also a sport button to give sharper throttle response and a lovelier exhaust note, MacPherson struts, four-link rear suspension, electromechanical rack-and-pinion steering, traction control, and Audi's famed quattro drive. The lighter weight - just 1,575kg - means there's a fab power-to-weight ratio of 213bhp per tonne.

It also looks pretty smart with 19-inch alloys, flared carbon fibre-reinforced polymer wings and a wider footprint on the outside and a cavalcade of glorious Nappa leather on the inside. Fuel consumption, if you're bothered is 31mpg and CO2 emissions are at 212g/km.

Cool kit is the order of the day with a handy gauge on offer that only tells you about boost pressure and oil temperature but also doubles as a lap timer. While the £39,930 pricetag is on the steep side, there's some fine standard kit for the price - rear parking sensors, electronic climate control, DVD-based sat-nav, xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights. Bucket seats and black or matt aluminium look roof rails are options.

It's a very tempting little number indeed. We may have to speak to the TotallyMotor bosses and see if this could pretty-please be our new staff car. Fingers crossed we'll be one of the lucky 250!
