The new SEAT Toledo is shaping up in fine fashion
Any excuse for a Batman-inspired headline here at TotallyMotor - and this case, our hyperbole is directed at the new SEAT Toledo, set for its UK launch in the first quarter of 2013. We don't have pricing information yet but SEAT is promising affordability and great value for money so we're anticipating something competitive.
Blending coupe style and five-door hatchback practicality, there are two petrol engines on offer - a 1.2-litre and a 1.4-litre and a punchy 1.6-litre diesel. At 4.48m long, it is a teeny bit longer than the predecessor and the new look features a broad C-pillar, wide, angled headlights, a slim, trapezoidal grille, low air intake and horizontal rear light clusters.
Keeping things frugal and green, there is the option of a seven-speed DSG transmission with the petrol engines, with the EcoMotive version having CO2 emissions of 116g/km.
Standard safety equipment is pretty comprehensive for an affordable car with driver, passenger, front side and head/thorax airbags. The base model has central locking, a two-piece folding rear bench seat and power windows up front. More specs and UK pricing will be revealed closer to the UK launch next year.
