New Jaguar F-Type soon out from the wraps

The competition for the world's sexiest car gets fiercer on a daily basis this week. Hot on the heels of getting a first peek at the new Aston Martin Vanquish, we can now take a glimpse of the new Jaguar F-Type sports car ahead of its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Right now, the details are a tad sketchy but we know it'll be a supercharged engine of either the V6 or V8 variety, it will have an all-aluminium construction and it will be a two-seater convertible - which adds instant sex appeal points right there.

The development prototype is being tested thoroughly ahead of launch and at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it will be driven up the Goodwood Hill by Jag's head of vehicle integrity, Mike Cross.

If all goes well, we can expect to see it go on sale here in mid-2013. But for now, these slightly mysterious pics will have to suffice.
