The new Kia Sorento gets a fresher looks inside and out, and an uplift on the luxury side of things
Kia, the ever-improving Korean automaker, has freshened up the Sorento, its rather successful SUV. The bodyshell and chassis have been upgraded for better stability and Kia is promising a new powertrain with class-leading fuel economy and lower emissions, although exact stats are yet to be released.
The exterior features new LED lights front and back, a new tailgate, revised front and back bumpers, vertical axis fog lights and 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there is a choice of a five- or seven-seat cabin, a new LCD instrument cluster and seven-inch display screen.
It seems pretty clear that Kia is keen to make the new Sorento a true competitor to some of the pricier SUVs out there and as such, has added a few luxurious touches to the range-topping automatic transmission model with a new console and touches of leather. A panoramic sunroof and powered blind are also options at the top of the Sorento line-up.
Due for UK release in autumn, full pricing and spec details will be announced later.
