TotallyMotor loves a spot of Facebooking (and if you haven't liked our TotallyMotor Facebook page, why not?) so we salute Citroen UK for calling on their loyal Facebook fans to create a limited edition C1 Connexion.
Using a special app, thousands of fans chose the details they wanted to see in what is possibly the first-ever crowd-sourced car design to go into production.
The limited C1 Connexion was the result of more than 24,000 configurations being sent in from around 10,000 people. The result is rather spiffing and avoids proving the old saying that a camel is a horse designed by a committee.
There's no camel antics here - it is a foxy three-door hatchback in Caldera Black with Scarlett Red additions to the wing mirrors and door handles. Other features the fans agreed upon were alloy wheels and additional red around the dials.
The production version will be based on the Citroen C1 1.0i manual in VTR trim - this is a model that comes with a high level of specification, including daytime running LEDs, air conditioning and electric front windows.
One fan will win the production version and in the meantime, the C1 Connexion project moves ahead with Citroen inviting fans to help design the badge for the model. Submissions close on May 18. Click here and get designing! www.facebook.com/citroenuk
