If you fancy some 545bhp, 160mph action in the Nissan Juke-R, the good news is they're now on sale. But only on request - Nissan is taking a limited run of orders for this grunty crossover in the next four weeks before production starts in earnest. It will be more powerful than the concept car and since the launch in Dubai (see video below), three orders have been placed including two from high-profile Dubai types. Naturally! The three lucky buyers will be able to take delivery of their Juke-Rs in late summer.
The original Juke-R was based on the MY10 GT-R running gear, the cars for customers will benefit from the drivetrain and chassis of the more potent MY12 GT-R. Nissan has been delighted with the response to the Juke-R and Gareth Dunsmore, Marketing Product Manager for the Juke, said: "The Juke-R was originally intended as a one-off concept to marry two of Nissan's most innovative models. But the reaction we had to the car in Dubai was amazing - people were making offers for the original on the street!"
Thanks to the positive reaction, Nissan is keen to keep the speed demons happy and, intriguingly, Gareth says: "There will be more news to come on Juke later in the year."
And Nissan have again launched a video to coincide with this stage of the launch activities, an online movie, Desert Nemesis by award-winning film director Rob Kapaln. It sees the Juke-R go through its paces in Dubai. Check it out below. And if you want to place an order, email Nissan at Juke-R@Nissan.co.uk...
