Peugeot crosses over in China

Peugeot's new Urban Crossover Concept is a slinky new SUV concept. It's looking pretty sweet so far...
It seems to be all about crossovers and SUVs at this year's Beijing Motor Show, Auto China 2012, and Peugeot is no exception. Their big reveal for Beijing is the Peugeot Urban Crossover Concept and they've got plenty of adjectives for it, including "elegant", "cheeky", "refined", "charismatic", "sporty", "seductive" and "mischievous".
On that basis, it sounds like something we want to marry rather than something we want to drive, but we digress. Let's take a peek at the latest concept car from the French automaker, shall we?
It is designed to fit in tight city spaces with a length of 4.14m and a width of 1.74m and it looks like the logical follow-on from the 3008. The open-mouthed grille remains, with a metal outline, the windscreen is raked, the body is raised and the wheels are big.
At the tail end, the lights are embedded in the body with three floating Peugeot lion claws using LED technology and there's an aluminium spoiler and roof double bubble which we've already seen on the snazzy RCZ.
There's no news on what will power this concept if and when it goes into production, but with the 3008 HYbrid4 already on the market, could this be a clue as to what the Urban Crossover Concept's powertrain might be?
It will be on show again at the Paris Motor Show in September when it makes its European debut - and hopefully a bit more information about what else we can expect from this car.
