Peugeot 208

The new Peugeot 208 goes on sale in June, with prices starting at under £10k

More Congestion Charge-free fun is coming soon to Peugeot showroom across the nation with the new Peugeot 208 going on sale from June 28.

And it's a green little machine. The 1.0-litre petrol engine emits 99g/km of CO2 while the e-HDI diesel engines emissions start from just 87g/km and all diesels have emissions under the magic 99g/km figure.

Pricing is pretty bank manager-friendly too with the entry level model priced at £9,995 - that would be the 3 door VTi 68bhp Access model. It can also be bought on Peugeot's “Just Add Fuel” programme for drivers aged 21 years an over.

The new 208 comes in three- and five-door body styles and the new lines, featuring a more compact, lighter frame, are taken from the SR1 Concept Car.

Here, there will be five levels of trim on offer and they have some intriguing names to say the least - Access, Access+, Active, Allure and Feline. Yes, Feline... There will also be a limited edition line called Ice Velvet Limited Edition, available from launch. Yes, Ice Velvet... We think they may be appealing to a young female market but we could be wrong...
