Limited edition Audi A1 quattro pretty much sold out

The new Audi A1 quattro attacks the ice-track with special studded tyres, and a whole heap of horsepower!
Just 19 units of a limited edition, high performance Audi A1 quattro were unleashed on the UK market and by the time you read this, they could well be all gone. Only 333 examples of the left-hand-drive-only, all-wheel-drive A1 limited edition will ever be made and the UK price is £41,020. Order books officially open in March but there has already been a garage-load of interest with deliveries expected in the second half of this year.
It is powered by a 2.0-litre TFSI engine offering 254bhp, 258lb-ft of torque, a top speed of 152mph and a 0-62mph stat of 5.7 seconds. In case you're at all interested, combined fuel economy is 32.8mpg and CO2 emissions are 199g/km.
Compared to the A1 you see buzzing around town, the A1 quattro has been gussied up inside and out with more than 600 components either reworked or replaced. Equipment upgrades are worth £11,000 and the styling is distinctly rally-inspired.
There is a quick-shifting six-speed manual transmission married to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, with an electronically controlled, hydraulically actuated multi-plate clutch whose package of plates rotates in an oil bath. Because it's a car that's all about the performance, there's a selective differential lock and a specially configured Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with a sport mode. This one can be switched off entirely for track use too.
But it looks like this one is all but sold out - so all we can do in the meantime is drool at the pictures.
