The all-new for 2012 Lexus GS is ready to order. The curves are gone; it's all about the aggressive angles...
A brand spanking new six-model line-up for the Lexus GS is now available to be ordered with prices starting at £32,995 for the still-rather-slick base model up to £50,995 for the top-of-the-line full hybrid variant.
At the entry level, there's still plenty of luxury to be had with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated/ventilated, electrically adjustable 18-way front seats, bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, dusk-sensing headlights and rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry and cruise control all coming in as standard.
At entry level, the GS 250 SE is powered by a 206bhp, 2.5-litre V6 Dual VVT-i petrol engine. The range-topping GS 450h Premier has Mark Levinson premium audio and HDD navigation system, linked to a rather large 12.3-inch central display, the largest on the market says Lexus.
For those who want a bit more fun with their Lexus (yes, really!), the F Sport models have slicker styling along with the Lexus Dynamic Handling system for a more involved drive. The GS 450h F Sport is priced at £50,995 while the GS 250 F Sport is a more affordable £39,995.The upgraded styling includes 19-inch rims, a boot-lip spoiler and sports-styled bumpers and front grille, leather steering wheel and gear knob.
The Lexus Dynamic Handling System includes Dynamic Rear Steering, electric power steering, Variable Gear Ratio Steering and Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management. Garnet Red is a new colour that is exclusive to the F Sport variant.
Every trim level features leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, electronically controlled steering wheel, paddle shifts, a 12-speaker audio system with CD player, DAB tuner, Bluetooth and USB/Aux ports.
Advanced safety features include blind spot detection, which is standard on the Luxury grade and automatic headlights which are standard on the F Sport and Premier models.
The Mark Levinson premium surround system with 12.3-inch navigation and multimedia screen is available for all Luxury and F Sport GS models, while a sunroof is offered for all versions except the GS 250 SE. The Premier specification has the options of LED headlamps and a preventive safety package featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Pre-Crash Safety. Metallic or mica paint is an option across the entire line-up, while full-map navigation is available for the GS 250 SE.
