Another Mini gets patriotic

Mini Highgate

The new Mini Highgate may be named after a north London suburb, but the roof actual goes south. Which is nice. Considering it's freezing!

We've had the Mini Baker Street and Mini Bayswater and now there's a third special edition - the new Mini Highgate, after the fashionable area of north London. And what better day for us to share the news than on the 60th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne - we're nothing if not patriots in here.

It's a drop-top convertible with four seats in a new metallic body colour called Iced Chocolate. There's a fabric roof, with the colour equally delicious-sounding - it's in Silvertouched Truffle. This truffle-tastic colour also features on the bonnet stripes with blue edging. There's also a choice of Midnight Black metallic or White Silver metallic for the body colour. The wheels are 17-inch light-alloys with spokes in a design inspired by the Union Jack.

Inside, the leather sears are in a colour called Dark Truffle with blue piping and stitching.
It comes with Mini's Chili Pack which includes automatic air-conditioning, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, multi-function steering wheel and multi-coloured interior lights.

There are four choices of engines - the 122bhp Mini Cooper, the 184bhp Mini Cooper S, the 112bhp Mini Cooper D and the 143bhp Mini Cooper SD. The six-speed manual gearbox is standard and the six-speed automatic is optional. Priced from £21,300 to £26,050, it goes on sale this spring.
