Range-topping Juke Shiro on the loose

The new Nissan Juke Shiro top-of-the-ranger keeps the popular crossover coming on strong...
No, it's not another Juke-R update. This time it's an altogether more practical Nissan Juke, albeit one that probably won't go quite as fast as the R. It's the top-of-the-line Juke Shiro.
Shiro is Japanese for white and it replaces the Kuro (Japanese for black...) limited edition model. The white comes in the form of plenty of blanc details inside - the centre console, inspired by the shape of a motorcycle tank, is white as are the door panels and window switch surrounds. White stitching abounds on the steering wheel, gear gaiter, centre armrest and ends of the leather seats which have a layer of white.
There's also a funky new exterior colour, Nightshade - it's not black, it's not purple, according to Nissan, it's a "sophisticated deep aubergine". Other cool touches include 17-inch alloy wheels, satin silver mirrors and handles, illuminated chrome-plated sill protectors for the front doors and branded velour floor mats.
It's due for delivery from March 1 with prices starting from £17,695. There are three engine choices – a 115bhp 1.5-litre dCi; 117bhp normally aspirated 1.6-litre petrol; and the range-topping turbocharged direct injection petrol 1.6-litre DIG-T with 187bhp. A 4x4 version and CVT automatics are also available. And it's a boost for British manufacturing as, like all Jukes, it's made at Nissan's Sunderland plant.
