Mitsubishi marches on to Geneva

Can you tell what it is yet? No, nor can we. But a bunch of new Mitsubishi models will look something like this, some time pretty soon...
Car industry types from around the world have barely recovered from the jetlag after the big motor show in Detroit this month and now the early previews for Geneva keep rolling into our inbox. The latest hints about what to expect at March's Geneva Motor Show have come in from Mitsubishi. They're being a little cagey about what they will actually be unveiling but they have promised us "a strategic and innovative premium vehicle" that will "reflect a gradual transformation in Mitsubishi's design language".
In a nice change from pie-in-the-sky concept cars that may never see the light of day in a showroom, the Japanese automaker is also telling us that it will be rolled out during 2012. The car is going to fit in with Mitsubishi's plans to be a greener company across their full range of family cars, crossovers and SUVs. It all sounds intriguing indeed.
The new design language is still being formulated, according to Mitsubishi so the car that will be on show in Geneva will give us hints as to where the brand is going, while still launching new-look cars in the meantime. We've got precisely one photo to show you and we can see a leaner look with simple lines, a wide open mouth and angles on the headlights that reflect Mitsubishi's three-diamond logo, which remains firmly front and centre.
As soon as the wraps are off, we'll reveal more.
