New diesel Jag XF set for spring

The 160bhp Jaguar XF diesel further improves on the green side of things, for execs that care...
With a low-for-a-fine-premium-motor starting price of £29,950 and excellent environmental credentials, there's a new Jaguar about to be unleashed on the UK market that is relatively affordable and more efficient than ever.
Behold, it's a new Jaguar XF with a 160bhp, 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. The sprint time isn't eye-popping but it's a still-respectable 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds with a frankly-fast-enough top speed of 130mph. The combined fuel economy is 52.3mpg and CO2 emissions are at 149g/km. Standard kit includes a stop-start function to help keep emissions down and save fuel, especially in city traffic.
There's plenty of other fine kit as standard on this latest XF too. The seats are in suedecloth and leather, there's the touchscreen mounted in the centre, electronic climate control and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. And even better, the solid design lines that are common across the entire XF line-up remain firmly in place with this latest model.
The order books are now open and the first deliveries will take place in March. We'll be lining up for a test drive and then we can let you know more about one of the most eco-friendly cars to emerge from Castle Bromwich, and in the meantime here’s what we thought of this new car’s sibling, the first 2.2-litre diesel Jaguar XF, in 190PS trim.
