A teeny-tiny preview of Lexus at Detroit

Lexus concept car

The new Lexus concept car, on show in Detroit in January, is said to indicate the company's new design direction. 21-inch wheels are a good start!

In a contrast to other automakers leaving very little in the way of surprises at next month's North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Lexus has decided to be rather mysterious indeed. While Honda has already told us pretty much everything that will be on their stand, Lexus is teasing us with a solitary picture and the promise of a new concept car.

All they're really telling us is that January 9 will be the day of the great unveiling and this concept car was created in the company's design studio in Newport Beach, California. It seems that the concept will show off the design direction for future Lexuses. From the picture, we can see angled, ovoid headlights with sharpened ends, a low grille raked towards the ground that looks a tad Aston Martin and some lovely big, 21-inch wheels and deep air intakes.

The shroud of mystery might be further removed soon as Lexus has promised to leak out more information next week - and, as a result, we hope to bring you a much more detailed report. In the meantime, feel free to speculate over what the rest of the picture may contain...
