Jeep takes a militant stance

Jeep's Wrangler gets tough for 2012 with the new Military edition. It's olive-drab on the outside, red 'n' wild on the inside
The Jeep Wrangler has a long reputation as a sturdy warrior on and off the road and the latest incarnation, developed by automotive designer Afzal Khan, is the Wrangler Jeep Military edition. Excellently, this beast has been designed under Khan’s expedition vehicles operation which is called The Chelsea Truck Company. Good to see someone still has a sense of humour.
It’s metallic grey on the outside and the typical Jeep bar grille has been blacked-out and meshed-out, for sinister style. Other mean features include quad exhaust system, smoked side lights, black petrol cap, aluminium pedals and heavy-duty mudflaps. The wheels are available in silver or black.
For a touch of flash, the brake calipers are finished in red. And if you really think they’re all out to get you, there’s the option of a bullet-proof rear window, and bright LED lights.
And the urban soldier needs a few mod cons so there’s sat nav, Bluetooth and LED driving lights. Oh, and red, quilted leather seats - but customers do have the option to change this if the red seems a bit much. Still, it’d hide the bloodstains.
The Military will be available in petrol and diesel models and in right- or left-hand drive and is priced at £35,875 OTR.
