Toyota’s Tokyo time travel

The Toyota FT-EV III is based on the iQ city car. It seats four and can nip around for 65 miles on electric power only
The stars of the Toyota stand at the forthcoming Tokyo Motor Show are eco-friendly and aim to take car lovers on a journey into the future with three concepts.
For the very near future, Toyota will be throwing the covers off the FT-EV III (which stands for Future Toyota - Electric Vehicle III. Of course). It is a four-seater electric car based on the Toyota iQ and designed for short trips. Toyota is hoping to launch something based on this concept next year, with a range of 65 miles on a fully charged battery.
Looking ahead to a 2015 production date, Toyota’s FCV-R (that being the Fuel Cell Vehicle - Reality & Revolution) concept car will also be on display in Tokyo. This is a hydrogen fuel cell family car. Measuring 4.7m in length, seating four and with room for plenty of luggage, Toyota says this will have a cruising distance of around 430 miles.
With no production date slated, the third Toyota concept for Tokyo will be the off-the-wall Fun-Vii - again, we have some trickery with the name as Fun-Vii stands for Fun-Vehicle interactive internet - and the rather floral car looks like a trip back to the 60s. However, this one is all about linking people, cars and society via the magic of the web. Stay tuned for more when the covers come off in Japan.
