2012 Citroen C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+

The new, 2012 Citroen C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+ is the most frugal diesel Citroen yet. 83mpg hits the spot!

Citroen’s greenest, cleanest diesel can now be ordered in the UK from this month - the new C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+ (we’ll just call it the C3 e-HDi for now...) has CO2 emissions of just 87g/km and an astounding combined fuel economy of 83.1mpg, and an extra-urban fuel economy stat of 88.3mpg. It will be priced from £15,290 OTR.

As well as saving drivers a fortune in fuel, the 68bhp C3 e-HDi is exempt from the London Congestion Charge, has free VED and benefit-in-kind tax is at just 13%.

It was first revealed at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show and the specs were pretty impressive for a supermini. The panoramic windscreen is standard and other smart kit includes innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid technology with a stop-start function.

The CD e-HDi is part of Citroen's bigger plans to make the entire range more ecologically sound with half of the new cars on offer by the French automaker now emitting less than 130g/km in CO2. There has also been a 5g decrease in average CO2 emissions across the board for Citroen’s European range.
