Sexy new Subaru BRZ coupe inches closer to climax

It's all looking good for the new Subaru BRZ coupe, out in the spring of 2012. I can almost here those rear tyres squealing!
Well, that’s about the sauciest-sounding headline we’ve ever written here at TotallyMotor! But, the excuse is that I was just looking - with much longing - at this electric-blue beauty you see before you; the Subaru BRZ. Infuriatingly still in “concept” form.
There’s been more teasing than a naughty night in with this hot new, coupe for the masses, and yet again she’ll be steaming up glasses at a motor show, with perhaps more tweaks to come before final production begins at Subaru’s Gunma plant in Japan, in spring 2012.
This time it’s the folks at the Los Angeles Auto show (November 18-27, 2011) who’ll be getting the saucy Subaru treatment, and then there’s just one more unveiling at the Tokyo Motor Show in December. And then she’ll be in full production spec. Yum!
The BRZ will benefit from a light-as-possible and not over-powered, 200bhp chassis, propelled by a new 2-litre Subaru Boxer engine (four, flat-mounted opposing pistons) developed specifically for the car, featuring the latest direct injection technology to improve combustion and therefore efficiency.
The Subaru engineered chassis is built with a front engine and rear-wheel drive layout that allows the flat and compact engine to sit low and rearward for the lowest possible centre of gravity. And so the juicy details build and build…
