Everyone wondered what was under the large Juke-shaped sheet at the Nissan press conference
Nissan is making darn sure that we are all well aware that the Juke-R is in development and will become a production reality. Information about the design and engineering of the compact crossover with the grunt of the mighty GT-R powertrain has been drip-fed to car lovers and this week, we got the first real glimpse of how it will look when it’s in the showrooms.
The first glimpse took place at a media event in Spain where the Juke-R was unveiled as a “surprise guest”. As well as promising to be the fastest crossover around, the looks are certainly intriguing - there are plenty of sharp angles, it has a pugilistic stance and certainly won’t get mistaken for a soccer mum taxi any time soon.
There will be just two versions of the Juke-R, a left-hand and a right-hand drive version. They have been developed by Nissan and are being built by motorsports outfit RML with assistance from the Nissan Technology Centre for Europe. Testing of the car is expected to start next month.
