Getting nippy out...
Two of Volvo’s most popular crossovers, the XC60 D3 and XC70 D3 are now available to order with all-wheel drive, just in time for winter when you may need all the grip you can get. The 163bhp XC60 D3 AWD is priced from £29,100 and the XC70 D3 AWD is priced from £30,615.
If the crossover/SUV-style body isn’t your thing, the V60 D5 estate is now available as an all-wheel drive as well. The V60 pumps out an impressive 215bhp and the AWD version, also available now to order, is priced from £34,020.
These three models are also available in Volvo Ocean Race specification - as far as we’re aware, this won’t actually make the cars amphibious but it does offer two smart exterior colours, Volvo Ocean Blue II and Electric Silver, sail-inspired leather upholstery, unique aluminium wheels, chrome detailing, special floor mats and some cute logo action.
As well as more options for all-wheel drive, Volvo has launched the 2011/2012 Winter Programme to make sure drivers are kitted out for a safe winter on the roads. It seems like only yesterday we were revelling in an Indian summer but now we’ve fired up the radiators at TotallyMotor Towers, Volvo might have a point. As such Volvo drivers can take advantage of a Winter Tyre and Winter Safety Inspection. The free inspection features a 30-point check.
Sets of premium tyres can be ordered at £495 for a set, plus £85 for fitting. Alloy wheel and tyre packages are available from £1,100 plus fitting. There’s even an iPhone app from Volvo so you can check out how your car will look with alloys before forking out the £1,100.
