2012 Suzuki Swift

Fancy a spunky new Suzuki Swift? Well you can duck the dreaded VAT until December

Hot on the heels of SEAT announcing an autumn campaign to give new car buyers relief from paying VAT, Suzuki has also decided to be kind to beleaguered British motorists and offer a VAT holiday as well.

The “VAT Parked” offer will apply to the entire Alto and Swift ranges until the end of December. This means that the starting price for a brand new Alto is just £6,665, a saving of £1,330, and you can get the basic Swift three-door from £8,880, saving £1,780. If you opt for the top spec Swift SZ4 five-door variant, you can save a tidy £2,165.

Suzuki is also offering low deposit/low repayment schemes for anyone who wants to finance their new car. For example, the base Alto can be bought with a £495 deposit, 36 monthly payments of £149 and an optional balloon payment of £2,382 to keep the car at the end of the term. The 0% APR three-year hire purchase scheme with 50% deposit on the SX4 and Grand Vitara models will continue until the end of December too.

Standard kit on the Alto includes four airbags, electric front windows and remote central locking. All Altos have a combined fuel consumption of 64.2mpg and emissions of 103g/km meaning they qualify for an annual VED charge of just £20.

Speaking of frugal Suzukis, the 1.3-litre Swift SZ3 DDiS, available at £11,125 under this deal, achieved more than 86mpg in the annual Fleet World MPG Marathon which was staged across 380 miles - a 28% improvement on the official figure of 67.3mpg.
