“Lord, it’s hard to be humble when you’re perfect in every way,” goes the old country and western song - but in the case of Aston Martin, we can probably forgive them for blowing their own trumpet just a little bit.
As well as making some of the world’s most stunning cars and ferrying James Bond from adventure to bedchamber, Aston Martin has been voted Britain’s coolest brand for the fifth time in six years. The poll was undertaken by the Centre for Brand Analysis and the awesomely named CoolBrands Council and the results had Aston Martin as coolest overall brand overall beating the likes of Apple and Bang & Olufsen, as well as being voted coolest automotive brand.
Those who had their say in the poll included musician Jessie J, Bestival founder Rob da Bank and actress and fashionista Sadie Frost. Initially, 10,000 brands are identified, shortlisted to 1,500 brands and the voted on by the panel of 36 people as well as consumers to produce a list of the top 500 most highly rated brands.
With the Aston Martin brand expanding in the past decade, even in the face of economic adversity, the current line-up is pretty cool, we have to agree. As well as the One-77 supercar stunner and the potent V12 Zagato, Aston unveiled the new DBS Carbon Series at Frankfurt this year. We like them a lot - maybe we’re not so sure about the Cygnet city car - but with so much coolness on offer, we warmly congratulate Aston Martin on their latest success.
