2012 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Concept

The new-for-2012 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Concept takes the practical A-Class in a whole new direction of curvy-cool. School-runs just got interesting

Just as exciting as the Rolling Stones again going on one last tour - only with no creaking parts - it’s the Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class. Merc is sending this compact, front-wheel-drive on a tour of the UK to test public reaction.

Four cities will be thrilling to the spectacle that will kick off with the car being hidden from view at each location in a mirrored box. This box is, stay with me here, surrounded by a “forest of interactive LED lights that react to sound” - these will change colour as people walk and talk nearby. Then music will play and lights will shine at regular intervals before the car will be revealed.

You can catch the Concept A-Class National Tour at the Bullring Shopping Centre, Birmingham on September 24-25, Westfield London in Shepherds Bush on October 1-2, Arndale Shopping Centre, Manchester on October 8-9 and Braehead Shopping Centre, Glasgow on October 14-15.

If you can’t make it to a mall, the car will also be stopping off at 70 Benz retailers around Britain and sharp-eyed motorists might spot the car being transported around the nation in a transparent container on the back of a Mercedes Atego display truck dubbed “The Clear Idea.”
