Goodwood Revival 2011

Out and about at the Goodwood Revival, 2011. Rain, planes, cars and motorsport legends. Yum!

We came on a plane just as the rain started to rain. But Sally wasn’t shy; she once dropped big bombs from the sky…

We ran through the pits clutching our VIP ticks, past the most expensive of red racers that’s not even that quick…

To the Drivers’ Club for tasty grub; steeped in race history, F1 legends and love…

And talking of love, after delightful deserts, the sun did shine, and our most famous aeroplanes took to the sky…

Wow, what a sight, 11 Spitfires in flight; such power, such might. So the rain now abated, classic racecars in pitlane poised; waited…

As the racers edged out we had a quick look about; a marriage in swing, old-time band with fervour sing, a van of snacks yesteryear to make buttons ping…

Alas, just as big engines built to a roar, the rain this time really did pour, so we took to the sky homeward bound once more…

‘Tis the law of the sods, once in the air there was not a drop. So we landed in safety; our Revival day much shortened, but no less breath-taking.
