Sneaky peak at the Subaru BRZ

A hot Subaru recently...
Another cagey car company is teasing us with their plans for the Frankfurt Motor Show. Subaru will be showing off some of the exciting new technology that is planned for a new rear-wheel drive sports car.
Called the BRZ, it is being jointly developed with Toyota and an online video teaser has been released to offer a few clues as to what we might be able to see in Frankfurt next month.
One secret that is out of the bag is the explanation for the name. It turns out B is for “Boxer engine”, R is for “Rear-wheel drive” and, awesomely, Z is for “Zenith”. They maybe should have replaced the B with an H for “Horizontally Opposed Subaru Boxer Engine” but we can see how that could get cumbersome.
Production of the BRZ is expected to start in spring 2012 - but for those who cannot wait for Frankfurt or next spring, here’s the link to tempt your inner boy racer: www.subaru-global.com/11frankfurt/teaser/
