Aston Martin starts the party early

The brutal Aston Martin One-77 partners the beautiful Zagato at posh car shows in the States this month. Surely Jay Leno will take one of each?
Forget about the Frankfurt Motor Show, Aston Martin has decided to start partying before the annual German automotive extravaganza. The sex-on-wheels V12 Zagato and classy One-77 will be going on show for the first time in the states this week in Monterey, California, which runs from August 17-21.
The V12 Zagato will be on show at McCall’s Motorworks Revival so the Americans can feel the joy the Europeans experienced with the Villa D’Este Concours in Italy earlier this year. At that event, the car won the award for design in the Concepts and Prototypes class and a few weeks later, it completed the 39th ADAC Nurburgring 24 Hour race in Germany. Production will start on this stunner in summer next year.
The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event will also be home to some Aston Martin action this year and to introduce the quintessentially British One-77 to the American market at The Aston Martin Estate, a private estate high above Carmel (where Clint Eastwood was the mayor, Fact Fans!) with magnificent views across Monterey Bay.
Aston Martin will be showing the guests a jolly fine time with private viewings and test drives of the whole model range on offer, including the new Virage and Vantage S. So if you happen to be swinging by one of California’s most exclusive neighbourhoods this week and you can’t wait for Frankfurt, The Aston Martin Estate will be open from August 18-20 between 10am and 4pm daily.
