Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic gets fruity Sport Pack

The Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic gets more of the good (and loud) stuff with the new Sport Pack. Bigger exhaust roar, faster gear shifts and some sharper styling
It’s time to let that 4.7-litre, 434bhp Maserati V8 really sing with the turn-it-up-loud Sport Pack now available to buy for Maserati’s most popular UK model, the GranTurismo S Automatic.
The key ingredient to the Sport Pack – although at 434bhp power doesn’t increase – is the revised exhaust system that keeps its bypass valves wide open in Sport mode to provide an "even richer sound" under full acceleration which, by the way, takes 5secs to 62mph, then onto 183mph.
And you’ll want to hold the revs at full scream to access the most power; at a howling 7000rpm.
Quicker, Sport Pack gear shifts will be all the more audible through that freer-flowing pipework thanks to new “super-fast” MC Auto Shift cog-swapping software for the car’s ZF automatic transmission.
The Sport Pack also features a number of exterior styling updates to keep the GT Masser firmly fresh, including body-coloured side skirts and front winglets, a new black front grille with the Maserati Trident logo accented in red, black mesh side grilles, tinted black look headlights, an integrated rear boot lid spoiler and those extra-oomph oval exhaust pipes, as well as a set of 6-spoke Grigio Mercury Neptune-design alloy wheels.
The Sport Pack is priced at £3,840, taking the price of a Sport Pack trimmed GranTurismo S Automatic to £92,480 on the road, including 3 years/unlimited mileage warranty.
The drop-top edition, Maserati GranCabrio, goes on sale in October, priced at £102,615.
