Peugeot: in yer car or on yer bike

"Mu By Peugeot", a unique hire scheme by the French automaker has moved from being a pilot project to being progressively cascaded across the UK. This rental business allows customers to purchase credits towards hiring cars for occasional use such as a convertible for the weekend or a scooter for a day.

In keeping with Peugeot’s plans to go green, not only does the Mu by Peugeot business allow you to hire cars from the entire range, and scooters, but also the latest electric bicycles. The 100% electric Peugeot iOn is also part of the portfolio and it can be hired for £30 on a half-day loan.

Mu by Peugeot will be rolled out in Peugeot dealerships across the UK. The pilot project started out at Peugeot dealerships in Chiswick, London, and Temple Gate, Bristol, following on from similar schemes in France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Belgium and Spain where it has been successful.

To further showcase their environmentally friendly cars, Peugeot had its low CO2 portfolio of cars at the Bridgestone Eco-rally. The rally ran between Oxford and London with four eco cars taking part - the iOn, a compact Bipper van in Royal Mail livery (so that’s where our mail went the other day...) and a 308 CC and 508 Saloon that were both equipped with the latest stop-start technology. All these cars will be available under the MU hire scheme and Peugeot will soon be debuting the world’s first diesel hybrid, a new version of the 3008 crossover.
