GT-R on a budget?

Will a few financial incentives from Nissan make it more realistic for you to own a GT-R?
Petrol prices are up, rising car insurance premiums are making headlines and for many a British petrolhead, the dream of owning a Nissan GT-R remains just that - a dream. But Nissan hopes a new financial sweetener will make their potent production car a viable proposition for more UK drivers and we may see (and hear...) more Godzillas on the road soon.
If GT-R buyers opt to buy their dream machine through Nissan’s personal contract plan, three years free servicing is thrown in along with three years free RAC coverage. For buyers who already own a 2011 GT-R or have bought one through another means of
financing, the three-year, 27,000-mile servicing plan is available for £499.
So that the discerning GT-R owner doesn’t have to entrust the motor to any old cowboy mechanic, there are 19 Nissan High Performance Centres across the UK for specialised treatment.
The GT-R is priced from £69,950 in the UK so it’s still a car for those with deep pockets. Lead-footed drivers should probably beware too - the top speed is 196mph - a thrill to behold and probably one best saved for a summer trip over to Germany where you can open her up on the Autobahns.
As a timely reminder to GT-R owners that they are lucky enough to own a car with a proper sporting pedigree, British company JR Motorsports, based in Sussex, has formed a partnership with Nissan Motorsports International to run its FIA GT3 project using the Nissan GT-R. This awesome race beast will be making appearances in Japan and Europe over the 2011 season and the car will then be available to customer teams as of next year.
