First seen as a concept car at last year’s Paris Motor Show, the Astra GTC, a slick three-door hot hatch with angles in all the right places, is coming soon to the UK’s Vauxhall showrooms.
The production version will be revealed to the world at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15 but from June 7, Astra fanatics will be able to get a few more details about the eye-catching showstopper, along with Vauxhall taking orders for the GTC.
On June 7, details on the powertrain, technology, equipment and the all-important pricing information will be released.
It is expected that the GTC will be in British showrooms from this autumn and, along with these images, Vauxhall is confirming that it will be a three-door model with enough room for five adults with “unique chassis features”.
The concept version that was on show in Paris last year featured a 290bhp version of GM’s 2-litre, turbocharged direct-injection four-cylinder engine and sexy 21-inch wheels, but the production version may have a bigger engine and smaller wheels.
With its aggressive stance, it is an obvious challenger to the bulldog-like Volkswagen Scirocco, another turbo-charged little bruiser.
