Drivers must check their car before returning from holiday
Drivers have been given some advice on how to avoid a breakdown on their long drive back from their holiday destination this summer.
While many drivers will check their car before they leave home, doing so when away from home is much less likely for most motorists, according to Mondial UK.
Lee Taylor, the group's automotive sales director, says that it is tempting to think that the holiday ends when you jump in the car to drive back, but drivers must be vigilant until they arrive home safely.
Souvenirs and gifts will add extra weight to a vehicle, while tyre pressures will have fallen after so much driving with a heavy load, Mr Taylor explains.
"With this in mind, drivers should take a few minutes to do some simple checks, such as water and oil levels, to potentially avoid the dreaded roadside assistance call," he adds.
Mondial UK recently advised drivers of approved used cars that taking a little time to look after their vehicles will save money on fuel and repair costs.
