BMW 1 Series Coupe and Convertible tweaks

BMW are showing off the new 1 Series cars, including the M Coupe, at the Detroit motorshow in January
Showing alongside the 1 Series range-topping M Coupe at next month's Detroit motorshow will be slightly tweaked coupe and convertible models of BMW's compact car.
No doubt the crowds will be distinctly drawn to the brawny M Coupe, but a few tweaks here and there to the 'everyday' 1 Series cars will hopefully add a little X-factor as they bask in the reflected M-car awe. BMW will also be showing the new 6 Series convertible and X3 in Detroit.
Revised, more detailed front and rear lights add a bit more trick to the exterior view and more and new alloy wheel options should further steal some of the M's attention.
Take a look inside and you'll see improvements to the trim detailing and different upholstery options. Just a little sprinkle of the facelift fairy dust, if you will.
Fast-moving air channelled through special ducting in the revised front bumper forces an 'air curtain' around the front wheels and apparently reduces drag in this commonly drag-heavy area - an aero-trick that the M Coupe also performs.
These improvements, though probably not the upholstery options, have helped to marginally reduce CO2 figures across the 1 Series board, with the 118d now rated at 118g/km and all 2-litre petrol variants producing 155g/km or less.
The 1 Series Coupe and Convertible go on sale in March next year, with prices starting from £21,960 OTR for the BMW 118d ES Coupe and £24,245 for the 118i ES Convertible.
