The new Audi A1 gets maximum five stars in Euro NCAP test
Audi's A1 premium compact hatchback has ticked enough safety boxes with the Euro NCAP examiners to receive a top-scoring five star rating, the brand has confirmed.
Audi further reports: "The results for adult protection in a frontal, rear or side collision, as well as for child safety and pedestrian protection, place the new A1 among the safest vehicles in its category."
As well as the structure of the car, electronic driver and stability aids are also tested, and the A1 comes equiped with a "high-performance" ESP stability system and electronic limited slip differential, as standard.
Established in 1997, the Euro NCAP consortium crash tests all vehicles on the European market. The consortium is made up of international representatives of European transport ministries, automobile associations, insurers and consumer protection organizations.
