Renault has taken a step to simplify its car range, reducing the number of versions from the marque by 30 per cent.

The company has taken the step to ensures that its line-up is "consistent, coherent and logical" to the buyer and will, in effect, provide three trim levels per model in an "easy to understand, formulaic" system.

Renault's consistent trim level structure for each model will include the Expression, Dynamique TomTom and GT Line TomTom and changes will apply to all car orders placed from January 4th 2011 onwards.

The company explained: "Modern-day life is getting more complicated. Or, so it seems, in spite of ever-advancing technology. So, at a time when stress-free living seems even harder to come by, in its own small way, Renault is 'simplifying' complex decision-making, by streamlining its range for prospective car buyers."

Its decision follows valued customer feedback regarding the company's model range, notably the Megane, Clio and Laguna.

Since the launch of the Gordini versions of the Renaultsport Twingo and Clio, Renault is also poised to launch a twin-striped version of its smallest model, the Twingo, priced at £11,395.
