Volkswagen Eos convertible set for UK debut

Volkswagen's brand new Eos convertible is now available for UK customers to order, following its debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show only last week.

The vehicle's iconic five-piece metal folding hard top, including glass sunroof, will undoubtedly prove an exciting feature for UK motorists.

An attractive £22,895 price tag may prove the perfect incentive to make the Eos a Christmas present for a family member, although eager drivers will not be able to take it onto the road until early 2011, when it is first expected to make its appearance at dealerships.

Buyers can choose from an impressive range of Volkswagen engines and gearbox set-ups for their car, with 13 different engine set-ups available in both TSI and TDI.

There is also a choice between a six-speed manual, or six-speed DSG gearbox on selected models.

In addition, motorists familiar with Volkswagens may notice styling similarities between the Eos and the Polo, Golf and Passat models.

Meanwhile, new leather finishes and interior trims are practical as well as aesthetic, designed so that they reflect the sun, rather than absorbing it and heating up the interior of the car.
