A successful title chase for Skoda in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) this year has inspired the company to announce a special edition of the Fabia vRS S2000 to commemorate its Constructors' Champion title in 2010.

The "all-conquering" Fabia S2000 will have a special edition model released in January 2011 and is fitted with a 1.4 TSI 180bhp turbocharged and supercharged engine, providing 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds alongside a top speed of 139mph.

Skoda's engine will be paired up with a seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox that is able to operate in two modes; fully-automated and manual Tiptronic.

Only 200 vehicles are to be made worldwide, and 20 of these have been allocated to the UK. In the firm's trademark Rallye Green with a white roof, Skoda is also fitting 17-inch white Gigaro alloy wheels and race liveries.

Taking part in 11 of the year's 12 events in the IRC, the Skoda went on to win seven of them.

This month, Skoda Motorsport confirmed its attendance at the 2011 Monte Carlo Rally, which celebrates its 100-year anniversary next year.
