Ford has been named as Britain's most reliable van manufacturer in a survey of the country's 50 largest contract hire companies.
As part of the "double success", the Ford Transit was named the most reliable van for the fourth year running, while the Ford Transit Connect claimed third place for the second year in a row.
The reliability survey, published annually by Fleet News magazine, polled every leading leasing company in the UK, taking account for over 1,000,000 vehicles.
Vehicles were rated according to breakdowns per 100 of every model, in turn covering over 840,000 cars and 183,000 light commercial vehicles.
Kevin Griffin, Ford of Britain fleet director, said: "Reliability and minimising off-road time is critical for the commercial vehicle operator, whether it's a small van or a large truck. As commercial vehicle market leader for 46 years, Ford supports the most efficient use of a vehicle whilst on the road."
This month, Ford strengthened its lead in the retail market, as its total vehicle retail share of 11.5 per cent in October jumped by 1.1 percentage points compared with October 2009.
